What we're learning in Caterpillar Room...

We focus on

My family: Explore photographs and pictures of children's families. Look at family members in the family book and talk about familiar people.

My Portrait: Explore mirrors and encourage babies and toddlers to notice their own reflection. Decorate simple self-portraits.

My Body: Sing action songs such as Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. Paint or print with hands and feet. Explore movement using hands, feet and whole-body actions.

My Feelings: Use simple photographs, puppets, and mirrors to explore happy, sad, and excited faces.

My favourites: Notice children's preferences and use them to support settling.

C&L: Develops communication through familiar voices, songs, family photographs and naming body parts and feelings.

PSED: Develops a sense of self, becomes familiar with key adults and routines, begins to express preferences and responds to the feelings of others.

PD: Explores movement through action songs, develops hand control through mark-making, and becomes more confident with physical movement.
